Have you ever gotten stuck on a problem and just did not know what to do? Have you ever been in those situations where you have a goal in mind of what you want to do... But you can't just look that thing up on how to do because you don't even know what it is called!

So you just wander going through youtube video after another youtube video, trying to find that ONE video that explains to you how to solve YOUR problem in the shortest and most direct way possible. Well... You end up not finding that video for a few days/weeks/months later and then you have that "AHA" moment.

Well, having a coach or a mentor let's you have your "AHA" moments immediately saving you months to years of your time. NO JOKE.

I am a competitive chess player and I am top 1% in United States right now. However, when I was acquiring my skills I always WISHED that I had a mentor back when I was young but my parents were unable to afford one for me.

But it wasn't that they COULDN'T afford one. Even though it would hurt them financially but if they could actually SEE exactly how beneficial a coach or a mentor would be for me... They would have NO DOUBT gotten their funds together to hire one for me.

Having a really good chess coach would not only save me years, but I would have been a Grandmaster right now (top level chess player).

Getting a mentor does not HAVE to be an expensive endeavor. Though, most great mentors know their value and they demonstrate it through its monetary equivalence.

You can try to find a mentor in your local community. Try networking with people nearby you. Other people who are trying to learn computer programming but are ahead of you. They can help you a lot even if they are one step ahead of you so don't hesitate to reach out to them and LEARN from them.

Another good place you can get a mentor from is meetup.com. You can try to connect with people their and meet with them in person or on-line. You can form study groups together but I would suggest more towards getting a MENTOR. Network with professional programmers, someone who is already where YOU want to be. They can guide you and save you YEARS of your time.

If your goal is to make money you will be making 10x as more money in 10x as less time.

If your goal is developing highly technical skills well than you will be becoming 10x as skillful while making 10x as less mistakes.

If there is ONE advice I could offer you to BOOST your career/learning years ahead of everyone else around you... It would be: GET A MENTOR.
